Frequently Asked Questions

How will I get to the start line?

Our private, chartered bus with on-board bathroom will take you to Hopkinton; just a short walk from the shuttles that will take you into Athletes’ Village.

What is a guest?

A guest is anyone traveling with Destination Marathons. These travelers may be a runner or non-runner- spectator, family member or fan of the race.  We’re thrilled to have you join our DM family for the trip!

Do I have to take the Destination Marathons bus to the start?

No, you are free to take the BAA-provided school buses to the start if you wish. However, our guests tend to appreciate our chartered bus with its cool air conditioning and onboard bathroom.

How do I get back to the hotel after the race?

Our hotels are conveniently located to the T red line Kendall Station. After crossing the finish line, you can head over to the nearby Copley Station and take the green line to the Park Street Station. From there, take the red line to the Kendall Station located next to our hotel.

Can we add additional nights onto our stay?

Please contact Jennifer (jennifer@destination-marathons.com) to inquire.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! Kids 10 and under are welcome on any of our packages for free, provided they stay in your room.

Is there a plan for spectators on race day?

Absolutely! Our non-runners are just as important as our runners. We will provide a guide with viewing suggestions to watch your runner and will provide a host to get you out to a perfect viewing location. After all, these runners need you to cheer them on!

How will my non-running friends be able to locate me after the race?

We will provide a detailed plan to all spectators to guide them through the entire weekend, including how to find you after you finish your race.

What if I have food allergies?

Please notify us of any dietary restrictions you have so we can do our best to accommodate you.

I’m part of a hotel loyalty program. Can I get points for this stay?

The hotel does not issue loyalty points for reservations that are part of a group stay.

Can you tell me about the parking garage?

The parking garage is detached and near the hotels. A limited number of parking passes are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The cost is approximately $42 per day. You’ll need to get a parking pass from the front desk.  If there is no room available, there is a public garage nearby. The Boston Cambridge offers Valet Parking for approximately $58 per day. *Prices subject to change.

Can anyone book the race tour, or is it just for runners?

Both runners and spectators can reserve their seat to enjoy a narrated, guided tour of the Boston Marathon course from legendary historian Tom Derderian. There are limited spots available, so make sure you book early to secure your spot. Additional fees apply. Tickets are sold per person. If you don’t book at the time of your reservation, you can always go back into your account and add it onto your package, pending availability.
